The Buddha offered many practical teachings for "householders": those of us whose lives are devoted to work, family, friends, and community in addition to formal meditation and Dharma practice. How do we wake up in the world, just as it is today? The Dharma and daily life are really not separate.
Join us as we learn to develop ease, happiness, and joy, regardless of the changing conditions of our moment to moment experience. We will learn to inhabit our lives with more awareness, drawing from timeless teachings like the 5 precepts, mindful communication practices for difficult conversations, and practices to open the heart. In this class, we'll explore what it means to truly live the Dharma both on and off the cushion.
There will be time for meditation, teachings, discussion and some exercises to take home.
This class is appropriate for those students with previous meditation experience who have taken an introductory mindfulness class or a Buddha's Path class previously.
Through meditation, instruction, and group discussion in this class, we will explore the teachings of the Buddha.
There are 6 weekly classes on Tuesday mornings from 10am - 12:00pm beginning November 13th to December 18th.
