As practitioners we are committed to walking the path of awareness and lovingkindness in a noisy and sometimes seemingly mindless world. Relational mindfulness is such a valuable part of how we can learn to take the teachings into daily life, and yet it can be one of our most challenging places to practice.
If peace begins within our own hearts and ripples out to our communities, what better place and time is there than here and now to look at the power of mindfulness and meditation and its effect on our communication? This will be a day of self-exploration and inquiry in community to deepen our practice both on and off the cushion.
The first half of the day will be held in silence by the participants with guided meditations by the teachers. Our periods of sitting meditation will be interspersed with walking meditation.
In the afternoon, having cultivated embodied presence in the silence, we will then explore the many facets of mindful communication through relational mindfulness exercises and practices.
We will offer dyads and small group work to explore together some of the Buddha’s teachings on wise speech as well as contemporary modalities for cultivating mindful communication.
You will leave this daylong with tools you can take with you into daily life. This daylong is suited for beginning and intermediate students.
Cost: Sliding scale from $50 to $100 per person.
