UPDATE: This class will now be meeting via the zoom platform online. You will receive the Zoom information in an email after registering.
In this course we will explore the Buddha's teachings on five qualities that empower our meditation practice: The Five Spiritual Faculties. These five empowerments -- faith, energy, mindfulness, concentration, and wisdom -- are our greatest friends and allies on the path of practice. These qualities are most powerful when they are in balance: traditionally we think of faith balancing wisdom, and energy balancing concentration, with mindfulness providing the inner strength to balance all of these as we stay present and awake in every aspect of our life.
There will be time for longer meditation periods, Dharma talks, discussion, and experiential exercises and small group inquiry in class, designed to help us experience for ourselves how each of The Five Faculties can be developed and utilized for the cultivation of inner balance.
Participants will be strongly encouraged to meditate for at least 30 minutes daily to support the deepening of their understanding.
Please note there will be no class on May 5th, class will resume May 12th. This is a class series, not a drop-in group.
