In this class series we explore the Buddha's teachings on the four qualities of the awakened heart: lovingkindess, compassion, sympathetic joy, equanimity.
As the mind is liberated through our meditation practice, so too the heart is freed and can dwell in more peaceful "abodes" known as the "Brahma Viharas" or "Divine Abodes". We will explore daily life exercises for developing this radiant heart as well as traditional meditations to cultivate the Brahma Viharas for greater balance, joy and ease in our meditation practice as well as in daily life.
This class is appropriate for students with some meditation experience who would like to deepen their practice. Classes will include time for meditation, meditation instruction, teachings and group discussion, and is designed to deepen your practice.
Recommended to students who have some meditation experience, such as the Basics of Mindfulness class or Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction.
